The difference between melt spinning and dry spinning

Feb 29, 2020

The breakthrough and maturity of the production process of melt-spun spandex is of great significance for eliminating outdated processes and equipment, improving resource utilization efficiency, protecting and improving the environment, and promoting sustainable economic and social development.

1. Water resource consumption

No water resources are used in the production process of melt-spun spandex, and every ton of dry-spun spandex needs to consume a lot of water resources.

2. Solvent consumption

Melt-spun spandex does not use solvents, the production process is clean, and no three wastes are generated. In the production process of dry-spun spandex, DMAC and DMF harmful solvents need to be added.

3. Residual solvent

Melt-spun spandex has no added solvent, no solvent residue, and is green and safe. Dry spun spandex adds solvents to volatile pollution of the atmosphere, and there are solvent residues on the fabric, which will damage the health of the human liver.

4. Cyclic degradation

Today's social reserves of waste chemical fiber textiles in China continue to rise, and the solution to the problem of waste textile recycling and reuse is urgent. Melt-spun spandex is environmentally degradable and meets the development requirements of circular economy. Dry-spun spandex cannot be degraded, increasing environmental pressure. The use and promotion of melt-spun spandex provides a "green" solution for the development of the recycling economy in the recycled fiber industry.

5. Feel

Melt-spun spandex is soft and delicate, and has good resilience, giving consumers a soft and comfortable wearing experience. Dry-spun spandex fabrics are stiff.
